Episode #11: Exploring Paris With Kids: 3-Day Family Itinerary, Eiffel Tower Tips & London-to-Paris Eurostar Guide
For spring break 2024, we spent a magical week in Europe with our 5 kids where we started out in London then took the train over to Paris for 2 days. London and Paris go so well together in the same trip since it is so easy to hop on over to Paris from London or vice versa. Be sure to checkout our awesome 5 day itinerary in London HERE.
Let’s dive into our quick but awesome Paris trip with kids!
🚆 Day 1: Eurostar From London to Paris & Eiffel Tower Evening
Eurostar experience
After spending 5 days in London, we headed to the Train station and
Morning train 9:30am: plan like an airport experience
Security, long lines, passport control — arrive early!
Seats that faced each other with a table (perfect for games + snacks)
Regular airline-style seating also available
Tip: Bring card games, coloring, snacks — it makes the ride fly by.
Hotel
Stayed at Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile (booked with Chase → Hyatt points)
Got 2 connecting suites + Club Lounge access 🙌
Stunning Eiffel Tower view (seriously, jaw-dropping)
Kids stayed between our room + grandma’s room
Hotel gave kids activity bags — huge win! Great hospitality and I couldn’t believe all that we got and literally didn’t spend a single dollar to stay there! If you wanna learn more about how we leverage points and miles for free stays, go back and listen to episode 2 where I break it all down.
Flytographer Photoshoot
After settling in and resting a bit, we got ready to go take pics
Took cabs to Pont de l'Iéna for Eiffel Tower photos
(best full-tower backdrop across the river!)Booked with Flytographer (click for $25 off your first shoot!)— highly recommend!
Yes, I brought berets. Yes, we leaned into the moment. No regrets. 😍
Evening Activities
Seine River Cruise — great views + saw Notre-Dame restoration
Dinner near Eiffel Tower at Le New York — pizza = kid-approved 🍕
Watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night ✨
One little guy fell asleep in the booth at dinner — jet lag life 😂
Back to hotel & watched the tower twinkle one last time before bed
🖼️ Day 2: Louvre, Eiffel Tower Summit & Trocadero Fun
Louvre
Family entrance shortcut → ask where the stroller/kids entrance is
Kids under 18 are free
Double stroller not allowed → got museum push carts for littles
Prioritized: Mona Lisa first
Trampolines: we didn’t have time but west of the museum is the Tuileries Garden and they have large outdoor trampolines and it’s a couple euro for a 5 minute jump
Eiffel Tower Summit
Timed tickets = minimal waiting
Took elevator to the very top — iconic, magical, a must-do 😍
Fun hack for photos:
Put phone on the ground + angle up for dramatic tower shot!
Trocadero
Jardins du Trocadéro Park — kids played + made friends
Photo spot at Trocadero steps
Kids did the classic pinch and hold the tower photos 👌Carette Paris hot chocolate
INSANELY rich
Could have shared 3 cups instead of ordering one each 😅
Other great hot chocolate places in Paris are Angelina and Café de la Paix.
🎠 Day 3: Luxembourg Gardens, Carousel Magic & Back to London
Luxembourg Gardens
Took cabs to Jardin du Luxembourg
Small entry fee to the playground, but worth every penny
Bathrooms
Kids played forever — slides, climbing, running
Carousel + Jousting Game
Carousel right outside the park
Kids get wooden jousting sticks
Try to catch rings as you pass — sweetest Parisian tradition
They loved it so much they rode five times
Back to Hotel + Train
Packed up, enjoyed one last view
Eurostar back to London for final night
Flew home next day from London
Paris with kids is magical, doable, and absolutely worth it.
It doesn’t have to be stressful — it can be fun, flexible, playful, and full of once-in-a-lifetime moments. We loved it, meltdowns and all.
